AMY'S RECORD

As a graduate of Cornell University with an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Amy Murphy Carroll had a 30+ year career on Wall Street in municipal finance.  With this financial background, she was appointed to the Board of Finance in 2014.

 

In this capacity, she has been intimately involved with our annual budget process, and a host of related subcommittees, liaison assignments and building committees — including:

  • Liaison work during the budget process with the Board of Education, Public Works and Parks and Recreations.

  • Co-authoring an exhaustive analysis of the Town’s building inventory submitted by the Building Evaluation and Use Committee in December of 2017.

  • Serving on the Saxe and Police Department Building Committees. The Saxe Committee brought the project in on time and on budget, and realized the full 20% reimbursement provided for by the state on applicable costs before the project was even finished.

  • Serving as a member of the Board of Finance’s Retirement Plan Advisory Committee.

  • Developing Board of Finance Debt Guideline parameters along with fellow members of the Board of Finance subcommittee.

Amy has also had the privilege of being a volunteer citizen who has been involved in a number of Town activities — which includes:

  • Managing countless youth sports team from recreational soccer to NCHS Varsity

  • Serving 10 years as a St. Mark's White Elephant volunteer, with multiple years as Chair

  • Launching Bring Your Own Bag New Canaan

  • Serving on the Waveny Care Center Committee to Evaluate the New Canaan Inn

  • Serving on the New Canaan Senior Housing Alternative Committee

  • Serving as a Norwalk Community College Foundation member
