MEET AMY
Amy Murphy Carroll and her husband, John, moved their family to New Canaan in 1996. She is a graduate of Cornell University, and has an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She worked on Wall Street for more than 30 years as a municipal finance executive. Since 2014, Amy has been a member of the Board of Finance and has a deep understanding of New Canaan’s budget process and Town departments. She has served as the Board of Finance liaison with the Board of Education, Public Works and Park and Recreation departments, and as a member of both the Saxe and Police Building Committees.
In addition, she co-authored the 2017 Building Evaluation and Use Committee’s report on the Town’s building inventory, and co-authored New Canaan’s current Board of Finance Debt Guidelines. She is a member of the Retirement Plans Advisory Committee overseeing New Canaan’s pension investments.
